The 'Frankenstrat' has always been his most recognised guitar, featuring Eddie’s trademark dynamic red, white and black 'candy' artwork but Eddie himself has played a much wider variety of classic guitars in his time…
In the 1980’s, revolutionary manufacturer, Steinberger, released their series of ‘headless’ electric guitars and shocked the music world, featuring no headstock and dynamic fully adjustable bridge (in standard or tremolo format), the guitars embodied an era of experimentation and crazy trends that Eddie could not resist. The Steinberger GL-2T became Eddie’s weapon of choice on classic songs such as "Summer Nights" and "Fire in the Hole" and was a remarkable piece of equipment even before Eddie had his classic ‘5150’ candy artwork applied to it.
